April Bennett Porter

April joined Highland Trust Partners in 2024 as executive assistant to Mark Cross.  Her primary focus is providing support in making sure Mark’s time is optimized, priorities are managed effectively, setting up annual reviews for clients and managing his calendar.    

April came to us from a local estate planning law firm as their client services representative where she also oversaw the firm’s finances and operations.  Prior to that, she worked in her family’s businesses, and has 30 years’ experience in customer relations, providing executive support, finance, sales, and marketing.

April was born and raised in Athens and attended Emmanuel College and UGA.  She has three children and one granddaughter.   She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, music concerts, and Georgia football.
